Are you interested in practicing family medicine in a rural Iowa community under 10,000 in population? The Iowa Farm Bureau Foundation and the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (IAFP/F) would like to encourage you to apply for a $2,500 Farm Bureau Scholarship! Two students and two residents are awarded this scholarship annually.
The application deadline is June 30, 2008. The award will be presented at during the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians Banquet on October 23, 2008 at the West Des Moines Marriott.

PISACANO SCHOLARSHIP
The Pisacano Leadership Foundation is pleased to announce that the application for the 2008 Pisacano Scholars Leadership program is now available online at www.fpleaders.org/, and may be submitted as the original application.
The Pisacano Leadership Foundation (PLF) seeks to advance family medicine by providing well-educated, community-minded leaders in primary care. By aiding students who demonstrate the highest levels of commitment to family medicine, scholarship, leadership, character, interpersonal skills, and community service, the PLF will promote the development of the future leaders in the specialty.
The Pisacano Scholars Leadership program is designed to provide educational programs, leadership training, and funding to reimburse a portion of medical-school-related debt. Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding medical students for a four-year period. Students who have made a commitment to the field of family medicine and who will enter their fourth year in medical school in the fall of 2008 may apply. The PLF will award scholarships with a maximum value of $28,000 each for the 2008-2009 academic year.

NATIONAL STUDENT & RESIDENT CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP (Due May 1, 2008)
The 35th annual National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students is scheduled for July 30 - August 2 in Kansas City. Information about the 2008 National Conference Scholarship Program is now available at: http://www.aafp.org/online/en/home/cme/aafpcourses/conferences/nc.html and click on 2008 scholarships.
Please encourage your resident and student members to apply for one of the $600 awards. Last year, over 125 residents and students benefited from this program. A description of each award category and the application forms are available on the Web.
